At-Home Volunteering

Message from Kenan:

As we are all impacted by the crisis created by COVID-19, we would like to reach out to our family to let you know we are thinking of you, your family, and your well-being. We especially want to thank those of you on the front lines who are helping to keep our community safe. Through the power of our strong community bond, we will persevere through these tough times. Please know that Kids4Community is here for you and looks at new ways to continue our work within the community.

Our partners at Interfaith Community Services have called for the community’s help as they rush to meet the needs of many San Diegans. They are currently serving almost double the orders they would fulfill on a normal day, and are in need of crucial supplies. See their update here to learn more about their work and means of assisting.

As well as working with Interfaith, we are parterning with senior homes throughout San Diego to organize the donation of various encouraging supplies. We have decided to organize the creation of various homemade crafts such as masks and food mats.

  • Shipping Address (for senior citizen home goods): 10123 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92131
  • Shipping Address (for homeless shelter goods): 550 W Washington Ave, Escondido, CA 92025

I wanted to reassure everyone that together we can get through the challenges presented by this pandemic. If we all do our part to better the community we live in, we will continue the amazing work we started and become stronger through our collective effort. As some have been the target of ignorant comments, we want to reassure everyone that you are important regardless of your race, creed, or ethnicity.

It is times like these that we realize we are more similar than different. Let us extend our love and kindness to one another during these times, and show how kids can lead our communities through compassion.
