Kids4Community Essay Contest

Kids4Community is thrilled to announce its first annual essay contest. This essay contest invites middle and upper school students living in San Diego County to construct essays that tell us what volunteering means to you. The primary purpose of our contest is to encourage our local youth to become more aware of their communities.

The winners will be selected and contacted via email the week of March 18th-22nd and announced at our first annual Kids4Community Volunteer Day on March 23rd.

Eligibility:

Middle School (Grades 6-8) 

  • You must be a 6th-8th grade student at a San Diego County School. (any type of school)
  • An essay 750 words or less

High School (Grade 9th-12th) 

  • You must be a 9th-12th grade student at a San Diego County High School. (any type of school)
  • An essay 750 words or less

Judges from Kids4Community will select a first, second and third place winner based on the quality of the essay and how well it addresses the topic, “What Community Service Means to Me.”

We will only be accepting essays from February 18th, through March 15th, 2019.

Important note: Essays received before or after these dates will not be considered.

  • $100 cash prize

Third Place Winners: 

  • $75 cash prize
