Summer 2020

Kids4Community’s Local Leader Challenge

Because Covid-19 will change the way we, as a community, approach this year’s summer break, we wanted to create a unique way for children to stay active in their communities. Therefore, we created the Local Leader Challenge which will host a series of “tests” varying from fitness and academics to volunteering. As usual, the Local Leader Challenge has no age requirement or age cap; however, this event is geared towards children between ages 4 and 12.

  • Fitness Challenge: June 22nd – July 5th
  • Volunteering Challenge: July 6th – July 19th
  • Literature Challenge: July 20th – August 2nd
  • Creative Challenge: August 3rd – August 23rd

If your child successfully completes the Local Leader Challenge, they will receive a custom certificate as well as various Kids4Community merchandise (stickers, water bottles, etc.).

Message from Kenan:

As we are all impacted by the crisis created by COVID-19, we would like to reach out to our family to let you know we are thinking of you, your family, and your well-being. We especially want to thank those of you on the front lines who are helping to keep our community safe. Through the power of our strong community bond, we will persevere through these tough times. Please know that Kids4Community is here for you and looks at new ways to continue our work within the community.

I wanted to reassure everyone that together we can get through the challenges presented by this pandemic. If we all do our part to better the community we live in, we will continue the amazing work we started and become stronger through our collective effort. As some have been the target of ignorant comments, we want to reassure everyone that you are important regardless of your race, creed, or ethnicity.

It is times like these that we realize we are more similar than different. Let us extend our love and kindness to one another during these times, and show how kids can lead our communities through compassion.
