The cold breeze and the winter chill, holiday shopping rush, hot cocoa, colors of red and gold – these are just some of the signs that the holidays is just around the corner. Practically everyone is excited to spend their holidays with friends and loved ones, but this is also the perfect opportunity to share your blessings with others. That’s why we decided to come up with this list of charitable events in San Diego during this holiday season!

While most of us may be spending time in merrymaking, others may not be as fortunate. Sadly, some of them may be spending this season on the streets without food and proper shelter.

Blessed are the hearts of the people who think of others before their own needs. As part of the San Diego community, we can all work hand in hand to provide homeless individuals with something to enjoy this time of the year,

Here are a number of charitable events that can help the needy during the holidays. Feel free to take part in any of these events, and share your love!

Wacky Wonky Wonderland in San Diego

The San Diego Center for Children will be having a fun-filled event on December 10, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Wacky Wonky Wonderland with be held at the San Diego Center for Children’s main campus in Linda Vista. This event is intended to collect gifts and raise funds to support its therapeutic, education, foster care and transition services which they provide to over 1,000 families across San Diego County.

Children’s Holiday Magic Fundraiser

The Martinis Above Fourth Table + Stage will be having one magical event to be held on December 10, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. The performances by CD talents are gifted to hospitalized children around the world. Their goal is to enliven the spirits of these children during the holiday season while they are at the Children’s Hospitals.

California Center for the Arts, Escondido

Come December 8, 2017, at 8:00 p.m., The California Center for the Arts will be having a spectacular family event entitled, The 28th Annual Carols by Candlelight Concert Sings for a Great Cause. This will feature country music stars singing their hits and favorite holiday songs.

Headliners include: Lonestar, Brandy Clark, Charlie Worsham, Anna Vaus and concert founder Steve Vaus. This event is intended to raise funds for Rady Children’s Hospital.

Annual Children’s Christmas Party

Christmas is all about love, happiness and children. True to their promise, the Family Assistance Ministries will be having their Annual Children’s Christmas Party on December 13, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. to share their blessings to the less fortunate children. You may bring your donations to the said event as we all joyfully celebrate and make it more meaningful for the homeless children.

Miles for Meals 5K

As the saying goes, “everybody deserves to have the right to live”. And that is precisely what Feeding San Diego is all about. This event was created to help spread awareness about hunger in San Diego and to be able to raise funds to provide a means for local families during this holiday season.

This event aims to raise $5,000 to provide 20,000 meals to families in need. The said event will be held on December 10, 2017, from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at the Gaslamp Quarter Corner of 5th Ave. and L St. San Diego, CA.

Let us all make a better world for all of us, including homeless individuals during this season of love and gift-giving.
